Troubleshooting HP Officejet 4650 Print Quality Issues

The print quality is must for each computer printers, sometimes the quality will differ in various reasons. If you are not satisfied the quality of your printed document or photo, then take a test print and compare the below printing image.


If the given issues occurs on your printer,
·         Horizontal banding issue
·         Vertical misalignment or banding issue

Horizontal banding issue
·         First you need to check, the paper is face up in the sheet feeder or not.
·         Then Run the “Head Cleaning utility” and “Print Head Alignment utility” for clearing any clogged ink nozzles and paper alignment issues.
·         In your printer software’s main menu (windows) or in the Print dialog box (Mac) select the Mode setting and select “Automatic” for clearing all customized settings.
·         Check the ink cartridge, if it is empty replaces it.
·         Check the “Maximum” is not selected as printable area setting in your printer software. If it is selected then uncheck it. Because it will cause the print banding issue.
·         Try to set the media type appropriate for type of media loaded on your printer.
Vertical misalignment or banding issue
·         Place the paper to face up in the sheet feeder.
·         Run the “Print head alignment utility”.
·         In the Advanced dialog box clear the “High Speed” settings.
·         For clearing any clogged ink nozzles run the “Head clearing utility”.
·         Make sure that the media type setting is appropriate to your printer settings.
·         Make sure the MicroWeave check box is selected on Printer advanced settings.
Incorrect or missing colors issue
·         In the Printer advanced dialog box, adjust the color settings for your application.
·         Still, if the colors are missing or incorrect, try to replace the color ink cartridge.
·         Don’t use the expired ink cartridge and also if the printer not used for the long period, then replace the cartridge.
Blurry or smeared printout
·         Check if you are using appropriate printer driver for your printer.
·         Make sure, you are using the quality print paper and it is not damaged, dirty or too old.
·         Clear all the customize settings in the mode settings.
·         In case, if your print the glossy media, try to load paper one at a time.
·         Adjust the “color density strength” and “drying time per print page” in the paper configuration dialog box.
Clean the Printer roller and print head
Sometimes the printer roller causes the unwanted marks on your document, then you need to clean the rollers and print head.
There are many reasons to clean your HP Officejet 4650 printer roller:
·         You print the document in the wrong side of the paper.
·         You have not been clean the roller for long time.
