HP Officejet Pro 8710 Troubleshooting - Resolve Printer Offline Problem


Causes

  • To the default printer settings,changes made.
  • Between the computer and router,a faulty wireless connection.
  • An incorrect choice of input port.

  • Make sure it is inserted into the correct port on your computerin case you have established a USB connection
  • Also, ensure that the cables (Ethernet or USB)are in a working condition
  • Check for the INDICATION lights on your printerin the meantime
  • The ORANGE light must be blinkingwhereas,the GREEN light must be steady

WIRELESS CONNECTION

  • Check the status of the connection,for a wireless connection.
  • From the control panel of your printer,to do this, access the SETTINGS menu.
  • To ensure that the printer is within the range of the router,check the WIRELESS SIGNAL STRENGTH.

PRINTER RESET

  • Plug out the power cord from the printer to reset the printer, while the printer is turned ON.
  • Also, from the power source,plug out the power cord.
  •  Wait for a few minutes.
  • And then, into the printer and the power source, reinsert the power cord.
  • The printer reset is completeonce you switch ON the printer.
  • Now, check if your printer is online. 

UPDATING THE SOFTWARE AND DRIVERS

  • For the printer drivers and the relevant software,check if the automatic updates on your PC is turned ON.
  • Manually download and install the latest software and drivers from the printer’s support siteif otherwise.
  • Disconnect any existing connection to the printer.
  • To the printer,re-establish either a wired or wireless connection.
  • Now, check if the printer is online and complete the HP Officejet Pro 8710 troubleshooting.
